Wexford offers miles of beautiful running terrain down coastal paths, along sandy beaches, on the town quays or around the cobbled and hilly streets by Clayton Whites Hotel. These routes offers the inspiration needed to lace up your running shoes and explore the fresh Wexford air.
Many local towns and clubs host running events throughout the year, one of the highlights being the Wexford Marathon, which in 2016 is taking place on the 12th June. The route starts in the picture perfect setting of Wexford Quay, and takes you out past Johnstown Castle, Murrintown, where you have a long steady pull up over Forth Mountain, where you have stunning views over Wexford, as you descend towards Larkins Cross. From here you have a flat 5 miles through Taghmon, before a tough 1 mile climb back up over Forth Mountain, and then an 8 mile downhill right to the finish.
